Japan is a very interesting country! They are very different from all other countries. Maybe the most interesting fact about them are their language and letters, but there are many more interesting facts.

Just some of them are:
• Trains in Japan are so crowded that sometimes railway staff must cram passenger inside them.
• People in Japan eat raw horse meat. It is very popular.
• Poorly written English is widely spread across Japan.
• Japan has more than 50.000 people older than 100 years!
• Japan has more than 1.500 earthquakes, every year!
• More than 200 volcanoes are located in Japan. More than 70% of Japan is made of mountains.
• Japanese people use 4 different writing styles (Katakana, Hiragana, Kanji and Romaji).
• Japan imports 85% of Jamaica’s annual coffee production.
• Japanese national sport is Sumo.
• When you want to use the restroom in someone’s home, you must use slippers, so you don’t contaminate the rest of the house!
• Japan uses the most of Amazon rain forest timber.
• When you move into your new apartment, it is tradition to give money to the landlord. It is treated as a gift, and you should give money equally to 1-2 month’s rents.
• Japanese people live 4 years longer than Americans. They have one of the highest average life expectancy in the world.
• Japan is the biggest car manufacturer in the world. Just some of the famous car companies from Japan are: Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, Mazda, Nissan and etc.
• Whale hunting is forbidden. Japan still hunts whales for ‘’research’’. Most of the whale meat ends up in supermarkets and restaurants.
• Men have a unique way to apologize. They shave their head, but this is not common today.
