JOOS Orange Solar Charger

JOOS Orange Solar Charger

JOOS Orange solar charger has several benefits. Maybe the most important is internal battery. Also, it is waterproof. This means that it can be used when the weather is bad. Sadly, it has several drawbacks. It is heavy, it isn’t very easy to use and there is no direct USB plug. However, the reason why this solar charger is heavier is its casing. It makes it waterproof, but it adds weight as well. The price is $149. As you can see, it is one of more expensive solar chargers.

The panel type is monocrystalline. It has the same dimensions when it is folded and unfolded. The dimensions are 8.5 x 5 inches. The panel size is 3 watts. Maximum output power is 5 watts. You can get more if you use a smart cable. The weight is 25.6 oz. You can use it to recharge a smartphone and tablets. But, you cannot use it for charging a laptop. In addition, the warranty is just one year. It isn’t the best side of this solar charger.

Because JOOS Orange solar charger has small legs, so it is better exposed to the sun, it is more effective than other solar chargers. Don’t expect to be faster than other solar panels. You will need the same amount of time to recharge the battery on iPhone 5 as with other solar chargers. But, you can but additional reflectors. They cost $25 but they will increase the efficiency for 50-100%.

Because of its weight, it isn’t designed for carrying when you go on a long hike or backpacking. But, it is the best when you are going to the area where rains are common.
